I almost pulled this snake out of the dirt pile while digging.

His head is still underground. At first I thought I cut him in 2 but he just had his tail under him. He is a 2-3 foot long rat snake I think. He was so dirty it was hard to tell. No rattle though and no water around here for months and not aggressive so I am thinking he is OK.
